Everyone else touched on excessive disk usage, but missed the rumbling. No matter how much your system accesses the disk, it should "NOT" rumble. Hard to say whether "rumble" refers to the normal burbling activity or something abnormal - especially as most abnormal sounds are more periodic than a random rumble...

The problem does seem to be less prevalent on my server systems so I assume this has something to do with the every day usage of the workstations. Still, the increase you are experiencing seems excessive. You could try listing the entire directory structure of the system partition to a text file.

in on Monday wondering why all the email had been refused over the w= eekend and realized the hard drive, which was 20G, was full of emails from AOL a= nd our server I set mine to 20MB and haven't had problems but everyone here=20 pops their mail from the server regularly so disk usage is not an=20 issue.
